Danny Williams

Oklahoma Radio & TV Legend

Danny Williams sent his version of “Cinderella” to WKY in Oklahoma City in April of 1950. The station hired him to work on WKY TV, the flagship station of Gaylord Broadcasting. Through his talent and creativity names like Spavinaw Spoofkin, Chief Spoof Spinner and Opus Pocusand became house hold words to baby boomers all around the Oklahoma City area.

In all, Danny dominated the Oklahoma City market for seven decades on radio and 40 years on television. He is a member of the Oklahoma Broadcasters Hall of Fame.
