Vice President Joe Biden will soon select a woman as his running mate. Today, America is accepting of females in leadership positions at all levels of government and many businesses. But of course, it hasn’t always been that way. All across America, women faced the so-called glass ceiling, as they did in Oklahoma.
Wilma Mankiller, Norma Eagleton, and Stephanie Seymour are three examples of women overcoming the prejudice of their male counterparts. History reminds us of the way it was and helps us appreciate present-day attitudes.
